Netbooks are a relatively recent category of computers. Around the end of 2007, smaller laptops started to appear for sale. These newer models were coined netbooks, because primarily their were mainly for Internet use. Below you will find a list of the Top 5 Bestselling Netbooks, which will change regularly.

Netbooks are more portable than laptops because of their size and weight, but they are usually a lot less powerful and lack features such as optical drives (CD/DVD), have small keyboards, limited operating systems and lower powered CPUs.

The advantages of Netbooks

  • Portability. Small size and weight. The screen size is usually less than 10 inches (diagonally)
  • Longer lasting battery. Most have well over 5 hours of battery life
  • Great for quick use. They are usually quick to power on and boot up
  • Great value for money. They are usually cost a lot less than high powered laptops

The disadvantages of Netbooks

  • Small Screens. They might not suit people with poor eye-sight
  • Cramped Keyboards. Not good for large hands
  • No optical devices (CD/DVD)
  • A less powerful processor. Not suitable for highly graphical applications
  • Limited OS. Usually they come with a limited version of Windows, Android, Chrome, etc
  • Limited on board storage. To cut down on weight and battery life, they sometimes only have a few GB of solid-state hard drives
